The United States Postal Service (USPS) has proposed new shipping service prices that would take effect in 2025. The proposed changes include an increase of approximately 3.2 percent for Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express services, 3.9 percent for USPS Ground Advantage, and 9.2 percent for Parcel Select. The price of a First-Class stamp will remain unchanged.
The USPS Board of Governors believes that these new rates are necessary to keep the Postal Service competitive in the shipping industry and to generate the revenue needed to support its operations. The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) will review the proposed price changes before they can take effect.
The PRC is expected to make a decision on the proposed price changes in early 2025.
